I bought an aluminum radiator and put that in. Seems to have cleared up the lack of cooling problem. That past two or three weeks we’ve had some of the hottest weather of the summer and I’ve not had a problem with over heating. The radiator coupled with moving the coil out in front of the engine compartment and getting the proper coil – resistor combination did the trick.
The temp sender I’m using reads a bit high on the MG dash gauge but only in that it’s at the just before the 3/4 level when running at temperature. I also put a mechanical gauge in line with the upper radiator hose as a backup. I think I’ll move it to the bottom hose so I can monitor what’s going into the engine. That always be cooler than what’s coming out of the engine or I’m in trouble.
