I think I have the carb tuned properly. I ended up with 4% lean than stock on the cruise mode, 2% leaner on the power mode and about 8% leaner on the wide open throttle. But what I found was the biggest difference was changing the staging springs. There’s a major difference in performance. I ended up with the yellow springs, not that that helps unless you have an Edlebrock tuning kit. I think it’s a spring that make the change from cruise to power mode quicker.
It’s running very well now. I measured the mileage over the past week – while I was doing all the tuning so it’s not exact, but I’m getting just over 23 mpg. I’m not complaining – I don’t wasn’t really driving for mileage during that time.
