For a bit I thought I had a problem with the heads. But posting the question on the Yahoo 215 group and the mg experience.net forum got the answer I really wanted to hear.
When the headers were pulled coolant came out of some of the bolt holes (studs came out of the heads with the bolts) BUTÂ – that’s normal for Olds heads, probably not for the Buick heads. The Olds heads and Buick heads are different – Olds has 5 bolts/cylinder, Buick 4.
So it turns out there isn’t a problem but I’ll have them checked anyway. The engine was running well before the rebuild was started so I’m not expecting any problems. I do need to coil a couple bolt holes and there’s one shaky spark plug hole that will get fixed.
