Hitting bumps was a bit jolting in the rear. Actually my rear and lower spine. We checked it and the shocks are bottoming out. Dan’s going to add an angle bracket to lower the bottom mount about 2″. That should give it enough travel. May change the angle a bit to soften the ride a touch. Right now they’re almost straight up/down. The brackets have two mount holes, the other would move it to maybe a 15′ angle. That would give it more travel on the shock for the same up/down movement.
I kept cleaning the left front frame, it just seemed to never stay clean, Closer inspection showed a slight fracture in the remote oil filter bracket. It puts out about a drip every 20 minutes, it doesn’t take much oil to collect a bunch of dirt, so that has to be replaced.
Idle has smoothed out pretty well now. I found the directions that came with the carburetor and got the vacuum/vent hoses in the right place. What a difference hooking them up correctly makes. The spark advance works better, idle is better, … whoda thunk it ?
I’m learning to love the T50. It’s kind of an awkward pattern at first, but it grows on you. I like the precise feel of the close ratio, there’s no doubt of if it’s in gear or not, it’s a definite yes or no. Makes you pay attention.
