Radio and Mavica Camera

01/17/98 – Radio works, got oil pressure ..

The radio works! That means the door panels are back in, mounted the amp in the trunk on the back wall. The carpet is back on the driveshaft tunnel. I don’t think I’ll put the ashtray/compartment piece in. The interior is cleaning up nicely. Mike had labeled things with masking tape. Masking tape works great if your not going to leave it on a long time. 10 years is too long, it dries up and leaves crap stuck to wherever you used it. Softscrub worked well getting that off, then a lemon oil beeswax polish brought it back to a real good looking shine.

I’ll get more pictures when I get a digital camera again. I bought the Sony Mavica FD7. It stores the images direct to a floppy disk. That was damn handy. The idea is great, but they saved the images in jpg format and didn’t give a way to adjust the quality level (other than course or fine). JPG is a good format but at the quality level they (Sony) picked, I wasn’t pleased. Some of the images below were done with it. I recently went out to San Diego and had a chance to use it quite a bit. The resolution and quality didn’t hold up well. The images from the bottom up to and including the mystery parts were done with the Minolta digital. From the radiator shots up to the full body shot below were done with the Mavica. The Minolta shots have more detail and aren’t as blotchy. I’m going to look at what’s out there and try another kind.
